Another Bamboo

Sorry about the late post - computer gremlins I'm afraid.

So today it's another Bamboo card and this time he's in a shoe!

The image is from Crafter's companion and is coloured with Promarkers.

 

 The colours used are as follows -

• shoe - orchid, amethyst, spring lilac, ice grey 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, cool aqua, duckegg and turquoise.
• shadow - warm grey 1.
• Bamboo - cool grey 1, 3, 4 and 5 and pale pink.
• flower - orchid, amethyst, spring lilac, purple and forest green.

I cut the image out using Spellbinders Floral ovals and inked it whilst still in the die with milled lavender distress ink. I used Coredinations whitewash paper which I embossed using Ebossibilites butterfly kisses embossing folder. I then sanded the design back to exposed the core. To add more definition I inked the design using milled lavender distress ink. I then cut 3 Spellbinder's marvellous squares from scraps of promises paper pack from Lili of the valley. I inked them whilst they were still in the die using milled lavender distress ink. The flourishes are cut from coredinations using Spellbinder's Venetian motifs.  I arranged all the components on a scalloped card blank and then added a lace bow and some pearls to finish.

Before I go I thought I would show the reverse of the card. This is my signature stamp which I sometimes colour as I have on this one. I have cut it out using Spellbinder's decorative labels 8. The stamp is a bespoke one from Clarity Stamps.

Just a quick post today.

 



This card is made using a Humphrey stamp from Crafter's companion. He is coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto Spellbinders lacey ovals cut from ivory Centura pearl. The background is a Core-dinations card stock embossing using a Darice embossing folder. I have then sanded the cardstock back to reveal the core. I have used pearls to highlight some of the embossed design. I have used ivory Centura pearl for the card base.

Bamboo

Hello again

Heres todays cards - 

The layout is from www.adieforasketch.blogspot.co.uk. I have used Crafter's companion Bamboo stamp. He is so cute and I have several of these stamps for most occasions. He is coloured with Spectrum Noirs and this time I have noted the colours. So here goes -

• Bamboo - BG3, BG5, BG9, GG1, GG2, PP1

• Heart - DR1, DR3, DR5 and a metallic marker for hightlights

The papers are from a Forever Friends black and gold paper pack with I found in my stash, black card embossed with Spellbinders Infinity M-bossibilites embossing folder and rubbed with enchanted gold gilding wax, and some gold mirricard. I have used Spellbinders lacey ovals to cut out the image and the second smallest die from Spellbinders blossoms 5.



As an experiment I coloured Bamboo with different colours to see if he would double up as another type of bear and here are the results -

The gold one is coloured with GB5, GB8 and GB11 and the darker one is coloured with EB1, EB2, EB3, EB4 and EB6.
What do you think? Useable as a bear as well as a panda? Maybe.

Just peachy

Hello there,

Normal service resumed today. Plenty of cute images, flowers, ribbon and bling. Here it is -

 

 

The image of course is another cute Tilda which has been coloured with Promarkers (sorry again not made a list of the colours used). I have used the two largest dies from Spellbinders Decorative labels 8 to cut out the image (I inked round the edges whilst it was still in the die with broken china distress ink) and to mount the image onto. The papers are First Edition - New leaf. The border is made from 2 Spellbinders Ironworks dies and the ribbon covers the join. The flowers are cut using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, the sentiment is stamped onto Spellbinders Ornamental tag 1 and the butterflies are cut using Spellbinders Jewel flowers and flourishes. I added some glitter to the flowers and pearls to the butterflies, frame and the tag.

18th card

Just a quick post today. This is the card I made for my son's 18th. There is no colouring today and it is a very different style for me but he loved it.

I started with a piece of black Centura pearl cardstock for the base and I added a piece of paper from Docrafts Chronology paper pack and inked the edges with black soot distress ink. I then embossed some Kraftcard with a brickwall embossing folder. I cut out sections of the brickwork and inked it with black soot distress ink. I then added this pieces to the card base around the edges. I then embossed a piece of Spellbinders craft mental using the Spellbinders creative cogs 3D embossabilities and then sanded it back. I mounted the metal onto the card base using Pinflair for some dimension. I cut the keys using Spellbinders love locket die D-lites and the cogs using Spellbinders spritely sprockets from craft metal and again sanded them back. I stamped the numbers onto Kraftcard using some Papermania stamps, stamped the cogs randomly (these stamps were free with a Docrafts magazine) and cut out the numbers. I then inked the edges with black soot distress ink. I arranged the keys and cogs onto the base and then mounted the numbers using Pinflair for a bit of dimension. I added some metal cogs from Docrafts to the other cogs at the top of the card.

The scratches appeared when I sanded the embossing back.

As I said very different type of card for me but I was pleased with the outcome.

Pink, pink and more pink

Hello again.

Today I have been inspired by the Ribbon Girls blog challenge colour which is my favourite colour - PINK. I just love it. It's so girly and I never struggle when using any shade of pink.

So here it is -

To add to the girliness (is there such a word?) I have used a Tilda stamp. She is coloured using Spectrum Noirs and cut out using Spellbinders Stately circles (the largest die in the set). I have inked through the die using broken china distress ink. I have then mounted the image onto the smallest two dies from Spellbinders grand decorative circles one.The papers I have used are from First Edition Birdsong. I have made the border using a Xcut border punch - daisy and mounted some cream lace and matching pink ribbon onto it. The flower is made from Spellbinders anemone die and the 'leaves' are from Spellbinders Floral flourishes. I have added some hat pins and a dazzler for a bit of bling. The sentiment was a freebie and is stamped onto a Spellbinders die delights ornamental tags one.

Summer fun

Todays card is very summery - not like the weather we are experiencing here in Stockport at the moment.

This is a stepper card. The images are from Molly Bloom. I love the beach huts. They remind me of the beach huts in Southwold. Southwold is a lovely seaside town in Suffolk, full of old world charm and well worth a visit if you are in the area. The images are coloured in with Spectrum Noirs and I have even remembered to write down the colours I have used too. All the details are at the end of this post along with close ups of the images. I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz broken china distress ink. The paper is from the Crafter's Companion S.W.A.L.K winter cheer collection CD. I used the colouriser to get the correct shade. I am not a lover of CD crafting but they are great if you have a favourite paper that you just cannot bear to run out of. The little trowel and bucket is from a Memory Box die called Garden tools. I thought they would double up as a bucket and spade. The sentiment is from Clarity Stamp and is stamped in espresso Adirondack ink.

Beach Huts are coloured using the following Spectrum Noirs -
Beach huts - TB1,TB3,TB4, CR8, CR10, CR11, CT1, CT3, CT4, GB8, GB9  and blender pen.
Windows - GG1 and blender pen.
Sand - GB3 and GB5.
Grass - LG4.
Sky - IB1.

Molly is coloured with -
Skin - FS3, TN2, TN3  and PP4.
Suit - CR8, CR10 and CR11.
Ring - TB1, TB3, TB4, LG3, LG4, CT1, CT3, CT4, BP1 and BP2.
Hair - EB5 and EB8.
Ice-cream - EB1, EB2, EB8, FS1 and FS2.

Two days running!!!!

Yes I have managed to blog two days running. Wonders will never cease!
Anyway enough of that here's todays card.

Once again this is a Lilli of the Valley stamp - don't you just love them. They are so lovely to colour and always stamp so beautifully. It's called vegetable patch (ST417). It is coloured with a mixture of Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers. I like to mix the pens so I can always find the exact shade I need. Sorry once again not been organised enough to make a note of the colours. Really must try harder! The image is cut out using Spellbinders label 29 and inked whilst still in the die with antique linen distress ink.I have added some faux stitching around the edge of the inking.The little clouds are a Memory Box die and are cut from Kraftcard. The little seed packets are from a Docrafts die cut pack and the sentiment is a Docrafts stamp stamped with espresso Adirondack ink. The paper is from Papermania spots and stripes pastels pack. The border is cut from Kraft card and is punched with an Xcut border punch. I have also thread some twine through the holes. I than added some more faux stitching.

AWOL

 My blogging has not had such a great start has it. Life has been extremely busy just recently. My eldest son has just celebrated his 18th birthday and is about to go on his first holiday without me or his dad so my spare time has been taken up with partying and organising clothes, sun cream etc for his holiday. Last night I completed the 10k walk for St Anne's Hospice so today I need to sit with my feet up so I thought what better time to do some blogging. So onto some crafting.

Here's todays card -

 

 

 

The stamp is a Lili of the Valley one called Kitten cuddles (ST390).(The cat in this stamp reminds my me of my own cat). The image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. I don't have many of these pens so the colouring and shading is not brilliant but I am adding to my collection so hopefully things will get better (along with a lot of practice).The image has been cut out using Spellbinders Resplendent rectangles and mounted onto the largest die in the set. The papers are Nit wit from Lili of the Valley (not sure of the name and have used it all up now but it is still available on the Lili of the Valley website). I have also used lilac Centura pearl which I embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossing folder. The border has been created using an X-cut border punch called Daisy and some ribbon. The flowers have been cut using Spellbinder's Bitty Blossoms die. This is one of my favourites and I use it on a lot of my cards.

Welcome to my blog. This is a new venture for me and I hope you will enjoy seeing the cards that I make. 
This is a card I made to raise money for St. Anne's hospice. This is just one of a box full I have made to be raffled during a ladies night on June 14th.

• Dies - Spellbinders Fleur de lis and Memory box Honeysuckle vine.
