Noel

Hello folks

Today's card is another Christmas card bring my total so far to 4. Not great I know but I have spent most of this week decorating but it is finished now so I should be able to do a little more crafting. I have a to do list which is growing instead of getting shorter.
I began by covering a 6 inch card blank with a green striped paper from LOTV's Woodland wishes paper pad. I then cut along one edge of two other papers from the pad with Spellbinder's Classic petal edge dies. I gradually decreased the width of each piece of paper and layered them up as shown. I then attached a piece of cream lace (from the Ribbon Girl) to the centre of the card.
The image is Christmas Tilda from Magnolia which I coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • hair - praline, caramel and saddle brown
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • clothes - wild cranberry, maroon, burgundy, ivory, pastel beige, holly and pine
  • basket - burnt sienna and walnut
  • flowers - wild cranberry, maroon, burgundy, pine and holly
  • shadow - warm grey 1 and warm grey 3
  • sky - pastel blue

I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's oval nestie, inked lightly whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and matted onto a Spellbinder's lacy oval cut from another of the papers from the paper pad. I attached the image to the card base with foam pads.

I then cut a Spellbinder's poinsettia (love this die) from scraps of the papers and attached to the card with a foam pad.
The sentiment is from LOTV's handwritten Christmas phrases which I cut out with a Die'namics mini tabs quartet and attached as shown.
To finish I added some gold gems to the centre of the poinsettia and to the flowers in the image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

Time for tea

Good morning everyone

This week's challenge at Allsorts is Time for tea and here is my card for the challenge -
I began by embossing a piece of pink core'dinations with a floral embossing folder (sorry I have no more information than that. It was in the bottom of my embossing folder box and I couldn't find any name on it) and then sanding it back to reveal the core. I then matted it onto silver mirriboard and then attached some lace (from the Ribbon Girl) and a piece of pink heart ribbon (from my stash) to the centre. I attached the whole thing to a 5 x 7 card blank.
The image is Cutie from Crafter's Companion's Strawberry Kisses stamp range which I have coloured with the following Spectrum Noirs -

  • cat - IG1 and IG3
  • bow - PP1, PP2 and PP4
  • tea cup - PP1, PP2, PP4, DR1, BP2 and GB3
  • shadow - BGR1
  • sky - IB1, TB1 and TB2

I cut the image out with Spellbinder's grand decorative ovals, inked whilst still in the die with spun sugar distress ink and then attached to the card base with Pinflair.

I cut several flowers using Spellbinder's Blooms 4 from scraps from my scrap box, layered them up and attached as shown. To finish I added some pearls to the centre of each flower.

Christmas on the move

Hello Folks

Today's blog is another Christmas post. The challenge at Winter Wonderland is "on the move". I decided to make a clean and simple card today and here it is -

  • penguin's hat - cloud blue, cadet blue and ice grey 1
  • sledge - praline, caramel and saddle brown

  • snow - icicle

I added lots of glitter to the snow, hat and the trees and then cut the image out using Tonic's layering squares. I inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and then added a sentiment from LOTV's handwritten Christmas phrases.
I then cut a silver mirriboard square and a square of paper from LOTV's Frosty Christmas paper pad using larger layering squares. and matted and layered the image onto them.

I took a 6 inch scalloped card blank and inked around the edge with tumbled glass distress ink then attached the layered image to the card blank.
I cut a Die'sire snowflake from white card, inked the edges with tumbled glass distress ink and added it to the top corner. To finish I added a blue gem courtesy of the Ribbon Girl.

Tilda tag

Hello folks

How are we all ? - well I hope. Wasn't it a glorious weekend - I'm loving these hot sunny days but not the muggy nights! Been getting up even earlier to get jobs done before it gets too hot and then enjoying the sunshine in the garden. Unfortunately not a lot of crafting has been happening - the Christmas card count stands at 2 - not a very good start. But I am not complaining - so often during the school holidays the weather is dreadful. I just hope it lasts for our holiday in Suffolk.
Right, back to crafting -
This weeks challenge at the Ribbon Girl is a Magnolia only one and Mary and Andrea would like to see a tag. Not something I usually spend time doing but I thought I'd give it a go and here is the result -

I began by making a tag using white centura pearl and a Go-Kreate tags#1 die. I then cut 2 more tags from LOTV's Up, up and away paper pad, scored one of the papers in quarters and created a checker board effect on the tag.
I added a piece of lace and pearl trim (from the Ribbon Girl) across the centre of the tag.
The image is Sweet Tilda with balloon which I coloured with the following Spectrum Noirs -
  • hair - EB3, EB5 and EB8
  • skin - FS1, TN1 and TN2
  • clothes - BT3, BT4 and BT5
  • balloon - BT1, BT2 and BT3
  • sky - IB1

I cut the image out with scissors and attached it to the tags with Pinflair.

I coloured some roses and buds (from the Ribbon Girl) with BT2 and BT4 Spectrum Noirs and then attached them to the tag as shown. I then pushed a piece of turquoise herringbone ribbon (from the Ribbon Girl) through the hole in the tag.
I stamped 3 sentiments from LOTV's sentiment tags set, inked around the edge of them with BT1 Spectrum Noir pen, then cut them out with scissors and punched a small hole at the top. I put them onto a length of Bakers twine (from the Ribbon Girl) and push this through the hole at the top of the tag. I arranged them and then secured them with Pinflair.

I woud like to enter this tag into the following challenge -

Golden Wedding Take 2

Hello

Today's card is a commission which I completed sometime ago -
I began by cutting a Die'sire create-a-card Decadence from ivory centura pearl. I then trimmed the die cut to create a square topper. I matted the topper onto a piece of gold centura pearl, trimmed using my perfect layers tools, then matted it onto a piece of ivory centura pearl, trimmed again with the perfect layers tool and then attached to a 8 inch card blank which I had covered with gold centura pearl.
I used the centre of the decadence die cut, turned it on its end and attached it to the centre of the card with Pinflair. I cut several Die-namics plentiful petals from gold cetura pearl and Die-namics flourishes from ivory centura pearl and attached them to the card as shown.
I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment and cut it out using Spellbinder's Splendid circles. I inked whilst still in the die with old paper distress ink and attached it to the centre of the card with foam pads.
To finish I added some gold gems to the centre of the flowers.

Many thanks for stopping by.

White Christmas

Hello everyone
This weeks challenge at Allsorts is white on white and as it is the summer break (ie. the great Christmas card craftathon) I decided to make a Christmas card.
I began by embossing a piece of white card with an Embossaicious snowflake embossing folder. I trimmed the embossed card to 7 and a half inches and matted it onto a piece of rainbow mirricard.
The stamp is by Chloe (a recent purchase at the Doncaster show) which I heat embossed with a WOW embossing powder (also from Chloe at the Doncaster show) called Frosty snowman.
I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's Grand decorative circles one and attached it to the card base with Pinflair.
I added a Tattered Lace bow cut from white centura pearl card and added a button (from the Ribbon Girl) to the centre of the bow.

Buttons and bows

Hello and a very happy Wednesday to you all
My summer break has begun - hooray although my youngest son is still at school for another week - he is not a happy bunny at all. Hopefully (weather permitting) I will be in the garden giving it a sprucing up after all the rain we have had over the weekend.
The challenge at Penny Black Saturday challenge is buttons and bows and the colour challenge at the Ribbon Girl is aqua/turquoise so I decided to combine the two and here is my
card -
I began by covering a 6 inch card blank with a striped paper from LOTV's Up, up and away paper pad (did say it was one of my favourites). I then cut a square using Tonic's layering squares from another of the papers and then cut one edge with Spellbinder's bracket borders 2, attached a piece of lace (from the Ribbon Girl) along one edge and then attached the whole thing to the card base.
The image is Tuip jungle from Penny Black which I  coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • cat - cool grey 1, cool grey 3, cool grey 5 and coral
  • tulips - cool aqua, oasis and rock pool
  • leaves - bright green, forest green and pine
  • sky - pastel blue
I cut the image out with Spellbinder's Grand decorative ovals, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and attached to the card base with Pinflair.

The bow is a Tattered Lace die which I cut from another paper from the pad and attached to the card with double foam pads.
To finish I added a crystal button to the centre of the bow.

I then cut a Tonic layering square from a blue paper from the pad and matted it onto a piece of silver centura pearl paper. I added some white lace (from the ribbon girl) and a piece of blue satin ribbon to the paper and then attached it to the card base.
The image is Tilda with two little gifts from Magnolia which I have coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • hair - raw sienna, terracotta and burnt sienna
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • clothes - denim blue, arctic blue, sky blue, reef blue, midnight blue, powder blue and cornflower
  • presents - powder blue, cornflower and silver gel pen
  • shadow - warm grey 1

I then added some slender firs ( a Doohickey die) cut from white centura pearl card and attached them to the card with Pinflair as shown.
The sentiment is from LOTV's hand written Christmas phrases which a cut out with a Die-namics mini tabs quartet. I attached it to the card as shown.

Tuning up for your birthday

Happy Monday morning folks
This is my last Monday at work before the summer break - lots of cleaning and tidying to be done today. Display boards to be backed and fresh new displays to be put up ready for September. Books are all labeled so I am feeling very pleased with myself. I can finish tomorrow knowing that we are all set for the new school year in September.
The challenge at Penny Black and more challenge is Dies and Punches and seeing as I have just a few of those I decided to give it a go. Here is my card for the challenge -
I began by covering a 6 inch card blank with a striped paper from a new LOTV paper pad called up, up and away (this is soooo gorgeous and will probably become one of my favourites). I then cut another of the papers with Tonic's Happy Birthday sentiment die set and attached it to the card with foam tape. I then cut the striped paper with the smaller 2 dies in the set and attached to the card as a diamond with foam pads.
The image is from Penny Black (a prize from last months challenge) which I have coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • dog - sandstone, caramel, burnt sienna and henna
  • overalls - denim blue, polar blue and twilight sky
  • box - cinnamon and cocoa
  • car - oasis, rock pool, ivory, pastel beige, ice grey 1, ice grey 2, ice grey 3, ice grey 4 and ice grey 5
  • ground - warm grey 1 and warm grey 3
  • sky - pastel blue

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set along the bottom of the image and then cut the image out with one of the dies from the Tonic die set, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and attached to the card with foam pads.

The happy birthday sentiment is from Tattered Lace and began life looking like this -
After I attacked it with a pair of scissors it looked like this -
The joy of Tattered Lace dies!!

Girls, girls, girls

Hello Folks.
How are we all today. I hope you survived the awful storms we had yesterday. Had a very early start on Saturday morning - rudely woken up at 3.30am by thunder and lightening. Gave me extra craft time though. Every cloud and all that.
The challenge at I love Promarkers this week is girls, girls, girls and here is my card for the challenge -
Of course as it is a girly challenge it had to be pink, glittery and a Scruffy Little Cat stamp. I began by embossing a 7 and half square of white centura pearl with an Embossalicious flower power embossing folder and inked the edges with spun sugar distress ink.I then matted it onto a piece of hot pink centura pearl paper. I cut 2 Tonic squares from the Scruffy Little Cat pastels paper pack and again matted them onto hot pink centura pearl paper. I arranged these onto the embossed panel as shown. I then added some ribbon and lace (from the Ribbon Girl) to the card and attached it to a 8 inch card blank which I had inked with spun sugar distress ink.
As I said the image is from Crafter's Companion's Scruffy Little Cat range and is called Louise. I coloured her with the following Promarkers -

  • hair - terracotta, burnt orange and burnt umber
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • lips - pink lobster and bender pen
  • eyeshadow - fresh bloom and blossom
  • eyes - arctic blue
  • dress - blossom, peony, fuchsia pink, pink lobster and cool grey 1
  • flowers - pink lobster and cool grey 1
  • accessories - cool grey 1, pink lobster, april shower, icicle, fresh bloom, blossom, pink lobster and maroon
  • shadow - cool grey 1 and cool grey 2
  • sky - pastel blue

I added glitter to the image and cut it out with a Spellbinder's Grand decorative oval. I inked whist still in the die with spun sugar distress ink, then matted it onto a larger grand oval cut from hot pink centura pearl paper and attached it to the card base with foam pads.
The sentiment is from the stamp set and I stamped it onto a piece of white centura pearl. I cut it out using Spellbinder's A2 tranquil moments, inked whilst still in the die with spun sugar distress ink and attached to the card with foam pads.
To finish I added some pearls which I coloured with a pink lobster Promarker.

Happy Golden Anniversary

Good morning folks

Yeah Friday again. Only 3 more working days before the summer break - hooray.
Here is today's card -
This year is a special year for me with lots of golden wedding anniverary celebrations including my parents in September. This card is one I made for my Aunt and Uncle and is actually gold and teal although the gold looks a little green in this photo. It is very simple really.
I began by embossing a piece of teal centura pearl paper with an Embossalicious Regency swirls embossing folder. I then matted this onto a 6 inch card blank.
Using gold centura pearl (all the papers I have used is from a Tattered lace cetura pearl paper and card pack) and Tonic's square base Affections and all my love Affections insert dies. I used all the insert dies (not the heart cutting dies) to leave the design in the card stock.
I then heat embossed a sentiment with gold embossing powder and cut it out with one of the small heart dies. I inked the edge of the die cut with old paper distress ink. I attached it to the card with Pinflair.
To finish I added a Tattered lace bow and a pearl to the centre to covered up the foam pads I used for dimension.

Thank you for stopping by.
