Hello

Hello folks

Today's card features another image from Penny Black's Missing you stamp set which I have coloured with my Spectrum Aqua pens. I am really enjoying working with this pens but I still need more practice. I have treated myself to some new paintbrushes as my old ones kept leaving bristles everywhere. I must admit I was rather surprised at the choice of paintbrushes that are available and spent a long time working out which would be best for me much to the disgust of my youngest son.
The challenge at Fantasy Stampers is clean and simple and here is my card for the challenge -
I had to resist adding anything more to the card as I finished it, I would have preferred to add a butterfly or a flower or two but I stopped myself. Clean and simple is not really my favourite way to craft.
Ingredients -
  • Missing you stamp set from Penny Black
  • Spectrum Aquas - kingfisher, marine, sea green, jasmine, bud green, boulder, fawn, amber, orchid, desert, topaz and blossom
  • blue papers from my stash
  • Spellbinder's circle nestie and scalloped circle nestie
  • Tattered Lace butterflies embossing folder

Missing you

Hello everyone and a very happy Wednesday

Another Penny Black stamp today but this time I have coloured her with my Spectrum Noir pencils. This is one of those cards that I am not sure if it works. I always select my papers before I start colouring but this time I didn't so the colours of the image are a bit bright especially the red. I think I will have to redo this card with slightly muted colours. But what do you think.......
I wanted the card to look as if the image was peeping out of the card so I used Tonic's twisted twine square die set.
Ingredients
  • Missing you stamp set from Penny Black
  • Spectrum Noir pencils - 078, 080, 082, 024, 027, 033, 096, 099, 104, 004, 005, 009, 089, 046, 049, 054, 016, 006, 019, 036, 041,030, 112, 012, 014, 018, 074 and 114
  • J'adore paper pad from First Edition
  • Spellbinder's pretty petals B
  • Tonic's twisted twine square and layering squares
  • buttons from my stash

Birthday wishes

Hello folks

Well my first week of the Easter holidays has drawn to a close. My front garden looks amazing, thanks to my husband with a little support from me and some of my assignments are complete. I have also been able to spend a little time crafting.
This is a new stamp to me, I really can't resist the cute little mice and hedgehogs that Penny Black produce. I have also been playing with my new Spectrum Aqua pens which my hubby bought me for my birthday. It really has been a bit of a learning curve as these pens are so different from the alcohol pens I am used to.
I stamped the image onto watercolour card with Stazon ink and applied the pens to an acrylic block and then used a paintbrush to apply the colour to the image. A bit like a proper artist!!
Ingredients
  • Cheesecake party stamp from Penny Black
  • Spectrum Aqua markers - sunflower, sunset, rose pink, blossom, jasmine, topaz, fawn, desert, chestnut, sea green and kingfisher (these pens are all from either the nature set or the floral set)
  • Up, up and away paper pad from LOTV
  • red core'dinations card stock
  • watercolour card
  • Spellbinder's labels 11 and decorative labels 8
  • LOTV's sentiments to fit scroll

A birthday cupcake

Hello everyone

I have had a bit of a disaster this weekend - my 15 year old laptop died!! What a catastrophe!! I didn't realise how much I relied on my little trusty laptop for updating my blog, editing photos and of course writing my college assignments until it was gone. Luckily my sister was updating her laptop so I have been given her old one (I am told it is a notebook but it looks like a laptop to me).  It has trial and error with the photo editing programme due to this being a more modern machine but hopefully I will get better with practice.
Now onto the crafting........
The challenge this month at Penny Black and more is birthdays. Here is my card for the challenge -
Now having just celebrated my ** birthday I have decided you can never have too much cake (especially when it is baked by your daughter).
This card uses a Penny black stamp called Cupcake which I have coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens and pencils.
Ingredients
  • Cupcake stamp from Penny Black
  • Spectrum Noir pens and pencils - CT1, CT2, CT4, PP1, PP2, TH5, TN7, TN9, EB1, EB2, DR1, DR5, DR6, FS2, FS4, FS9, CR1, GT1, GT2, BG1, BG2, IB1, blender, 063, 097, 093, 085, 016, 018, 034 and 089.
  • Forever friends kraft notes paper pad from Docrafts
  • Spellbinder's grand decorative circles one, circle nestie, scalloped circle nestie, sprigs and sentiments 2
  • Martha Stewart punch
  • Tonic petal pairs punch
  • ribbon from Docrafts
  • lots of glitter!!!!

I even decorated the inside of the card.
I added a shadow to the sentiment by cutting two and matting them.

Two more fairies

Hello folks

A quick post today. Today I am supposed to be re-writing 3 assignments. It is very frustrating when you are not given clear instructions don't you find!! As a little bit of light relief I locked myself in my craftroom instead.
I had so much fun yesterday with my new fairy stamps from LOTV that I decided to colour another couple of the Fairies from the set -
I made a DL card from centura pearl using my Ultimate Pro and even decorated  the inside of the card too.
Ingredients -
  • Little Fairies stamp set (set 89) from LOTV
  • papers from Docrafts (I think they were from a Tatty Teddy pad many years ago)
  • Spectrum Noir pencils
  • glitter
  • Fairy sentiments (set 90) from LOTV

Fairies, fairies and lots more fairies

Hello Folks

I hope you all had a good Easter and eaten your fill of chocolate.

A while ago I purchased this new stamp set from LOTV and have been wondering what to do with it. To be honest I didn't read the small print very well and was expecting the images to be slightly bigger but I had a little think and this is what I came up with -
Sorry the pictures are a little washed out. I took the pictures just as the sun was setting last night and had to use my daylight lamp.

Ingredients
  • Little fairies stamp set (set 89) - from LOTV
  • Fairy sentiments (set 90) - from LOTV
  • Perfect pair paper pad - from LOTV
  • Spectrum Noir pens and pencils - CT2, BG7, GB8, GB9, 086, 091, TN3, TN6, TN7, TN8, 092, 103, FS2, FS4, FS9, 009, PP1, PP3, PP5, PP6, 035, CG1, CG2, 044, CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4, EB1, 004 and IB1
  • spun sugar and Victorian velvet distress ink
  • pink silky crush ribbon, heart charm and pink baker's twine - from the Ribbon Girl.
