Butterfly wishes

Good morning everyone

I was feeling very fed up and bored last night (half the family were out enjoying themselves including my hubby) and started to rummage in my crafty stash. I cam across a lovely kit from Hunkydory - no idea what it is called or where I got it from but I spent a lovely evening (and ended up working into the wee small hours) crafting with it. I ended up with a bumper stash of lovely cards and notelets. This is one of the cards -
Ingredients -

  • Hunkydory topper, sentiment and backing paper
  • ribbon from the Hobby House
  • gems from my stash

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

Teacher thank you

Hello folks and a very happy Sunday to you all

Today I am having a very lazy Sunday. It is wet and miserable here so I am holed up in my craft room trying to catch up on blog posts etc. Yesterday I spent all day crafting on some Spectrum Noir DT work which I should hopefully be able to share with you soon.

Today's card is one I made for my son to give to one of his teachers.
It is a very quick and simple card using my Tonic dies.
The other ingredients used were -

  • lilac centura pearl
  • white hammer card
  • Tattered Lace butterflies embossing folder
  • Tonic floral frame and spring insert
  • ribbon and pearls from my stash

Another lovely little bow tied with my bow maker.
And that is really it, as I said quick and simple but very pretty.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy what is left of the weekend.

Hedgie friends

Good Sunday morning

Yesterday I locked myself away in my craft room and had a wonderful day crafting to my hearts content. Gosh I have missed spending time in my lovely space. A few weeks ago we made the decision to move house but unfortunately it wasn't to be and so we have taken our house off the market. As we were trying to sell the house my craft stash had to be tidied away and the room shown as a sitting room but now I can relax and rediscover all my lovely craft stuff plus one or two (!!!) new purchases.

This month's challenge at Penny Black Saturday is friendship and this is the card I made for the challenge -
The stamp is called Hedgy Truffles from Penny Black which I have coloured with my Spectrum Aqua pens -
  • Hedgies - chestnut, sepia and topaz
  • taodstools - scarlet, crimson, jasmine, desert and peach
  • grass - moss
  • leaves - evergreen
  • sky - aquamarine
I stamped the image with Stazon ink onto watercolour card.
The other ingredients I used are -
  • white centura pearl card for the card base
  • Die'sire edge'ables simply words die - on your special day
  • Sunny Side up paper pad from LOTV
  • Spellbinder's floral ovals
  • Martha Stewart border punch
  • ribbon and pearls from my stash
  • butterfly charm from The Ribbon Girl

English charm

Good morning and a very happy Saturday to you all.

Today is the first day of my 6 week summer holiday and I am going to be spending a lot of time in my craft room which I have neglected for such a long time. I am desperate to have a good play with all my goodies I bought at Summer Crafting and I also need to begin the Christmas card marathon.

Today's card is one I made for a work colleague who is off to pastures new -
Ingredients -
  • Tattered Lace stepper card die (a recent purchase at Summer Crafting)
  • white centura pearl
  • English charm taster pack from LOTV
  • Promises patterned and plain paper pads from LOTV
  • vintage seam binding from my stash
  • pearls from my stash
These packs from LOTV are great value for money and make making a quick card simple.
A side view. Apologies for the background. End of term presents!!
Another fancy bow made with my bow maker.

Traditional Christmas colours

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you all

As it is Friday it is time for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland. It is my turn to host the challenge this week - very nerve racking I can tell you. Hopefully I haven't made too much of a hash of it!!

This week the Snowflakes team would love to see you Christmas projects using Traditional Christmas colours. I have chosen to use red and green and here is my card for the challenge -
I have used a super cute digi stamp from The Paper Shelter called "Are you ready, my friend". I just love Rudolph - he makes me smile every time I look at him. I have coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir pens and pencils as follows -
  • Santa's hat and coat - DR1, DR5, DR6, 026 and lots of glitter!!
  • skin - FS2, FS4, FS9, 089 and 009
  • beard - IG1, IG2 and 112
  • gloves - JG1, JG2 and 047
  • belt - IG8, IG10, GB4 and 020
  • boots - GG1, GG2, GG4, GG5, 118 and 114
  • Rudolph - TN7, TN8, TN9, 097, EB1, EB2, 088, DR1, DR5, DR6, JG1, JG2, 047, GB4 and 020
  • ground - BGR1 and BGR3
  • sky - IB1

The other ingredients I used were -
  • white centura pearl card base (made using my Ultimate Pro)
  • green core'dinations
  • Christmas papers from my stash
  • Spellbinder's Snowflakes View die set
  • saddlestitch ribbon and Christmas pearls from the Ribbon Girl
I am very proud of my bow on this card. I have always struggled tying neat bows so during my trip to Doncaster last weekend I treated myself to a Tattered Lace bow maker. And it works!! It was so simple to use too. I feel an abundance of bows coming on!!

Why don't you join in with our challenge this week and get ahead with your Christmas makes. We would love to see your entries.

Doncaster goodies

Hello folks

Firstly sorry for my prolonged absence. All technical difficulties have now been resolved by buying a new laptop but there may still be some operator errors. Windows 8 is definitely putting a spanner in the works constantly telling me there is a problem with my blogger page when there quite clearly isn't. But in the name of modern technology I will preserve. I am also getting used to a new editing programme for my photos so the photo quality is a bit ropey too. I don't know, it's just excuse after excuse.

On Saturday I made my yearly pilgrimage to Doncaster in search of a lot of inspiration and a little retail therapy. I managed to spend far too much money but I felt justified after overhearing a conversation at the Tattered Lace stand between two ladies of advancing years. One said "I'm not sure, it's rather a lot of money." and her friend replied "Oh it's only money! You deserve it". "True" said the first lady and off she went to the till. And I agreed too and also trotted of to the till.

This is a card I made using some of my purchases -
Ingredients -
  • white centura pearl and pink pearlised paper
  • Delicate daisy die set and Petunia Trellis base die set from Tonic
  • Die'sire Happy Birthday die
  • pearls from my stash

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my ramblings.
