A little bird told me ........

Happy Friday folks

Wow where did that week go. Our DIY is nearly finished so we are off to the cinema this afternoon to see Hotel Transylvina 2. Our local cinema has been recently refurbished so we are going to check it out.
I made today's card to really showcase the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.
I created the scene using stamps from the Twit Twoo stamp set (from Crafter's Companion), stamping and heat embossing onto Neenah card and colouring directly onto the paper.
I used the following colours -
  • birds - blue topaz, cosmos and moonlight
  • birdhouse - moonlight and soft jade
  • sky - moonstone
  • grass - holly leaf and olive jade

The other ingredients were -
  • white centura pearl (for the card base)
  • blue and green core'dinations
  • sentiment from the stamp set

Thank you so much for stopping by today

Chaos

Good morning folks and how are we all this fab Thursday?

I have crept away from the chaos in the rest of the house and found a little corner of my craft room where I can actually craft. It is my youngest son's birthday on Sunday and I need to make his card. More of that on Sunday.

Today I thought I'd share another Sparkle launch card. The pens didn't last very long did they! Congratulations to you if you were able to get hold of a set.
This cute little owl is from Twit Twoo stamp set and the branch and leaves are from Forest Friends stamp set both from Crafter's Companion. I stamped and heat embossed the images onto Neenah card (naughty I know but I was playing and wanted to see what would happen. It worked perfectly well but I think if I were to do it again I would do it on watercolour card.) and then mixed smoked quartz and harvest moon on my glass craft mat and applied to the image with a damp brush. For all the other areas I applied the colours direct to the paper.
The colours I used were -

  • owl - smoked quartz and harvest moon (mixed on a glass mat)
  • branch - holly leaf and smoked quartz (applied directly to the paper)
  • sky - moonstone (applied directly to the paper)
  • leaves holly leaf and olive jade (applied directly to the paper)

The other ingredients used were -

  • kraft card
  • green and brown core'dinations
  • Die'sire create-a-card Decadence
  • Pebeo gold gilding wax
  • sentiment from the Twit Twoo stamp set
  • ribbon from the Ribbon Girl

Leaves from the Forest Friends stamp set.

Well back to the DIY chaos. It is nearly finished now just have to put everything back before work on Monday!

Enjoy your day and thanks you for stopping by

Floral delights

Hello folks

Wednesday already. My weeks holiday is racing by. We are DIYed out so today we are off to visit my eldest son at University.
More Sparkle cards today -

I have used Crafter's Companion's Floral delight stamp set which I stamped onto watercolour card with Stazon ink. I scribbled the colour onto a glass mat, mixed pink garnet and inspired violet to make my own colour  and then applied the colour using a damp brush. Once the image was dry I added a coat of sparkle using the Crystal clear pen. The colours used were -
  • pink garnet, inspired violet, olive jade, moonlight, moonstone and crystal clear
Other ingredients used were -
  • purple core'dinations
  • white centura pearl
  • Tattered Lace stepper card die set
  • Crafter's Companion's script embossing folder
  • gems from my stash
To finish I added a sentiment from the stamp set -

Spread your wings

Morning everyone

This is another of my design team cards for the launch of the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I do hope you were able to get a set. They sold out so quickly. NEWS FLASH - they have some left. Leann is on Create and Craft at 9 am this morning.
This is another new stamp set from Crafter's Companion called Flights of Fantasy which I stamped onto Neenah card. To colour the stamps I scribbled each colour onto my glass mat and applied it to the images with a damp brush. For added sparkle I went over the images (once dry) with the Crystal Clear pen. The colours used were -
  • rose quartz, pink champagne, aquamarine and moonstone
The other ingredients used were -
  • peach core'dinations
  • Butterfly lullaby stamp set - just for you (from Sara's signature collection)
  • watercolour card
  • tumbled glass distress ink
To make the background I scribbled rose quartz, pink champagne, aquamarine and moonstone onto my glass craft mat, spritzed it with water and then blotted up the colour with watercolour card. I dried it with my heat gun and then using the small butterflies from the Just for you stamp set, applying the Sparkle pens directly to the stamps and stamping randomly over the background.

Good Monday morning to you all

This morning sees the launch of the new Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens from Crafter's Companion. You can see the shows at 8 am this morning. This is a tag I made for the launch -
I stamped the fox and leaves from Forest Friends stamp set (also on the show this morning) onto Neenah desert storm and coloured him with the Sparkle pens -

  • harvest moon, pink champagne, rose quartz, solar red, aquamarine and olive green
The other ingredients used were -

  • peach and rust core'dinations
  • leaf vein and wood grain embossing folders (from Crafter's Companion's Textures range
  • plain white satin ribbon from my stash which I coloured with Harvest Moon Sparkle pen

Funny thing to photograph I know but I wanted to show you how sparkly the ribbon became once I had coloured it.

I hope you can tune in for the launch show, the design team have made some fabulous projects to showcase the pens and hopefully inspire you.

Sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle

Hello

Yes it is a second post from me. I know I am spoiling you but I just wanted to let you about the new pens from Spectrum Noir which are launching tomorrow at 8 am on Create and Craft. They are the most gorgeous Sparkle pens. Here is one of the cards I made for the launch -
I hope you can see the sparkle, these cards were particularly difficult to photograph and do the pens justice. The stamp is from a new stamp set especially designed for the launch called Forest Friends (from Crafter's Companion). I stamped the image onto Neenah desert storm card with Versafine ink and coloured it with the following pens -

  • moonstone, olive jade, pink champagne, smoked quartz and crystal clear.

The other ingredients used were -

  • Kraft card
  • green and brown core'dinations
  • Die'sire essentials squares
  • Die'sire Nouveau stamping frame
  • Sheena's tumbling leaves embossing folder
  • Pebeo gold gilding wax

I made the background by scribbling smoked quartz, pink champagne and olive jade onto my glass craft mat, spritzed with water and then pressed a piece of Neenah desert storm into the ink. I then dried it with my heat gun and embossed it with Sheena's tumbling leaves embossing folder.

I do hope you are able to catch one of the shows tomorrow and see the exciting demos that Leann has planned.

Jingle bells

Hello folks

Can you believe it is Friday again? The weeks are really flying by and Christmas is looming ......... so what better time to join in with our new challenge at Winter Wonderland. The challenge this week is Jingle Bells and here is my card for the challenge -
My card features a cute image from Digi Stamp Boutique who are sponsoring our challenge this. I was very pleased with the image on my card which is why I have kept the design quite simple. I didn't know you could create a scene with digi images but with a little help from my Facebook friends and some internet tuition it seems I can! For more info you can check out a video tutorial at Make it Crafty. So I created my scene and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir pens -

  • owl - EB1, EB2, EB4, EB6, EB8 and OR1
  • hat - DR1, DR5, DR7, IG1, CT4, GB4 and GB5
  • branch - EB3, EB5, EB7, DG3, JG6, CT4, GB4 and GB5
  • sky - IB1

The other ingredients used were -

  • white centura pearl (for the card base)
  • red card, gold mirriboard and green core'dinations
  • Die'sire ivy die
  • Spellbinder's poinsettia die
  • ribbon and gems from my stash
  • gold and iridescent glitter

So if you fancy winning a £10 voucher to spend at Digi Stamp Boutique then why not join in our Jingle bells challenge.

Good enough to eat??

Hello folks

Today's card is another one which I completed as part of my guest designer slot at Hope and Chances
Elliott wanted me to use Victorian sign post die and I thought it would work beautifully with Spellbinder's gingerbread house die.
Ingredients -
  • Spellbinder's Victorian sign post, Gingerbread house and Icicles dies
  • white centura pearl, kraft card and blue core'dinations
  • Spectrum Noir pens - DR1, EB3, CT4 and TN9
  • Crafter's Companion snowflake embossing folder
  • Pebeo silver gilding wax
  • Hunkydory silver glitter

I cut the gingerbread house twice from centura pearl and kraft card. I inked through the die on the kraft card with Versamark, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heated. I cut the outer shape from centura pearl and embossed with the detailed die. I then coloured the areas of the house with Spectrum Noirs before adding the kraft card to the top.
I cut the sign post from kraft card and added some glitter to the lantern part of the die. I embossed a piece of blue core'dinations with a snowflake embossing folder, sanded it back and then rubbed silver gilding wax over the snowflakes.
The Gingerbread house and Victorian sign post dies can be found here.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. See you soon
