Father's Day

Good morning folks

As it was Father's day yesterday I thought I would share the cards I made for my dad and my Father-in-law.

My dad had a black Morris Minor when I was a baby and we have several photos of me and him with the car so when I saw this kit I knew it would be perfect for him.

And this is the one I made for my FIL - 

This is a really difficult card to photograph but hopefully you will get the idea.

Good morning folks

Today is Father's day in the UK so I am going to visit my dad. I will share the cards I made for him and my FIL later in the week.

Snowman joy

Good morning folks

Well if this is the summer I think I need to rethink my idea of what the summer should be!!! Isn't it terrible? We have actually put the heating back on, in June! So I decided today to post something that fits the weather - 

The image is Snowman Joy from Whimsy Stamps. I did buy it last year but never stamped it (slapped wrist for me). I have coloured him with Spectrum Noir pens, Sparkle pens and Triblend pens -

• snowman - ice grey blend, C00 (Copic), BO3 and BO4
• hat - BG6, BG8, BG10, DR7, DG3, DG4, TN5, TN7 and TN8
• scarf - tan blend, TN5, TN6, TN7 and TN8
• trees - DG3 and DG4
• snow - ice grey blend and C00 (Copic)
• lantern - BG1, BG2, BG4, GB7 and GB10
• sky - peacock blue and crystal clear Sparkle pens

And because it is Christmas I added lots of glitter.

I also used - 

• Merry little Christmas papers from First Edition
• brushed gold mirri
• ivory centura pearl
• Gemini Christmas sentiments 2
• Sara's signature collection - contemporary Christmas snowflakes of joy die set
• gem from my stash

 The sentiment from Christmas sentiments 2 die set.

I used the different papers to create the snowflake.

Inky birthday wishes

Hello folks

Today's card is yet another birthday card made using some recent purchases - 

For this card I have used - 

• Spinning in circles stamp set and Words and whirls stamp set both from Mama Makes
• Neenah crest card 
• Matt black card
• distress inks - cracked pistachio, squeezed lemonade and peacock feathers
• lagoon Harmony ink
• Die'sire celebration word set 1
• Tim Holtz words
• Finese black ink

I created the background using an inky sponge which I 'pounced' onto the paper to create circles of ink. Then I stamped onto it using the lagoon and black ink.

To create this background I make the circles splodges as above and then second generation stamped the images again with the lagoon and black inks.

Good morning everyone

Today's card is one I made for my mother-in-law's birthday -

Pink ink dragon

Good morning folks

On Friday it was my eldest son's birthday and this is the card I made for him. This is a very detailed post - so grab a cuppa and make yourself comfortable.

He is a big fan of Game of Thrones so when I saw this dragon stamp from Pink Ink designs I knew it would be perfect. The stamp is called Dragon from Pink Ink's mythical series. I stamped the image onto Sheena's stamping card and coloured it with pixie powders which I used as a watercolour paint. I also stamped the wing stamp onto velum and colour it in the same manner.

For this card I have used - 

• Dragon stamp - Mythical series from Pink Ink Designs
• Pixie powders - burnt orange, lava red, peacock green and rich gold. All from Creative Expressions
• Spectrum Noir's black onyx Sparkle pen
• Sheena's stamping card, watercolour card and velum all from Crafter's Companion
• matt black card (for the card base)
• brushed gold mirri
• black soot distress ink
• Tonic layering squares and circles die set 

To make the background I made a wash from the black onyx Sparkle pen onto watercolour card and while it was still wet I sprinkled on some pixie powders. Then I allowed it to dry.

To make the white background I sprinkled a wet piece of watercolour card with the pixie powders and then dried it with a heat tool which allowed me to make some of the areas 'run' and blend. I then cut out a circle of the card and stamped the swirls around the edge. Finally to finish I added some black soot distress ink to the outer edge.

Quite a detailed card but I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

Good morning

Happy Saturday folks. 

Here is today's card - a CAS one that I made for my stash - 

For this card I have used -

• Neenah Crest card

I made my own backing paper using the cat stamp and black ink.

The sentiment and paw print are from the stamp set.

A very simple but cute little card.
