Summer time

Good morning folks

Yeah it's Friday. I can't believe how quickly the weeks are passing by. The school holidays are less than 2 weeks away which means one thing for me - Christmas crafting!!!!!
Anyway back to the here and now. The challenge this week at the Ribbon Girl is Summer and what could be more summery than cricket. Here is my card for the challenge -
I began by covering a 6 inch card blank with a paper from a Docraft's paper pad (I am sorry I can't remember it's name). Then I cut another piece of the papers with Tonic's twisted twine die set (I used the 2 largest dies in the set) which I then matted onto the card base.
The image is cricket (ST179) from LOTV which I coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • hair - burnt sienna, burnt umber and chestnut
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and dusky rose
  • cricket bat and wickets - caramel, cocoa and walnut
  • clothes - cool grey 1 and cool grey 3
  • grass - pear green, marsh green and moss
  • sky - pastel blue
I cut the image out with a Tonic layering square and inked whilst still in the die with antique linen distress ink. I cut a Tonic Just a note square from one of the papers from the pad, matted the image onto the square and than attached it to the card base with foam pads.
The sentiment is from LOTV's sentiments to fit scroll which I cut out using Die-namics mini tabs quartet.
To finish I added some tiny buttons from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog.
