Squishy cats

Good morning

Well what a difference a week makes. Storm Hannah pounded us yesterday - wild, wet and windy. It is a little brighter today and at least the rain has stopped. I didn't venture out yesterday but I definitely need a walk today.

Today's card is one I made for my friend's birthday. She is a cat lover so this stamp was perfect - 

The stamp is called squishy cats from Stamping Bella which I coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and Triblend pens -

• cats - OR1, OR2, OR3, BO4, Ice grey blend, IG2, IG4, IG5, IG6, IG8, IG10, brown grey blend, BG6, BG8, Earth brown blend, EB5, EB7, EB8 and FS2
• ground - BG1 and BG3
• sky - IB1
• butterfly - hydrangea blend and true black

I also used - 

• Sue Wilson double stitched rectangles die set
• Newton's Nook fetching friendship stamp set (for the backing paper)
• matt black card
• Die'sire essentials cicles and scalloped circles die sets
• LOTV sentiments stamp set
• tumbled glass distress ink

I made the backing paper using the butterfly from the Squishy cats stamp set and the paw from the Newton Nook stamp set. I coloured them with Hydrangea blend and FS2 pens.

Easter wishes

Good morning folks

It is a bank holiday here in the UK and for the first in a very long time the weather is lovely. Which means very little crafting but lots of gardening. Tonight I am off to see a show starring Kevin Clifton (of Strictly fame) and on Sunday have a family meal planned. Then a day of rest on Monday before heading back to work on Tuesday.

Today I am sharing one of Easter cards I have made to send to my family and friends - 

This is one of my favourite Easter stamps and tends to get used every year. It is a Magnolia stamp called Tilda holding Easter egg which I coloured with Copics pens -

Shabby patchwork

Good morning folks

Happy Monday to you all. Week 2 of my Easter break and once again I will be heading back into the garden. I bought some new rose bushes last week and I need to get them planted asap. Also for my mother's day my children gave me a hydrangea which also needs to go into the ground. 

Today's card is one I made a while ago with some new Woodware stamps - 

For this card I used - 

• Woodware's layered collage stamp set
• Sara's signature collection - shabby chic paper pad
• Neenah desert storm stamping card
• pink core'dinations
• Sara's signature collection - shabby chic rose garden embossing folder
• Sara's signature collection - shabby chic printed seam binding
• lace corners from the Ribbon Girl
• antique linen distress ink

I stamped the stamp several times on different papers and then collaged and layered them up to create dimension.

I inked around the edge of the embossed cardstock to add a little definition.

That is all from me today. The sun has come out so I am off to plant my new plants.

Vintage Iris

Hello folks

A bit late with my post but I am on my holidays so I think I deserve a bit of a lie-in. 

Today's card is a result of a little bit of playtime in my craftroom - 

I began my stamping Woodware's vintage iris and then over stamping with Woodware's old paper tag stamp. I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to colour it - 

• green pickle, warm basil, golden sun, chilled ocean and iced denim (all from Sheena's range of Sparkle pens)
• sea breeze

I used sea breeze Sparkle pen mixed with glycerin to ink the outer edges of the tag.

I also used - 

• Woodware paper scraps stamp set
• Gemini 3D embossing folder - geometric triangles
• Neenah and Sheena's stamping card
• matt black card
• Die'sire celebration words set 1
• black ribbon and gems

I used chilled ocean, iced demin and sea breeze sparkle pens to create the backing paper. I scribbled onto my glass mat, spritzed it with water and mopped up the ink with a piece of Sheena's stamping card. I faux bleached it and embossed once it was dry.

The torn strips were created by stamping Woodware's paper scraps stamps onto scraps of the background I created and adding a little more iced denim ink.

Peony flowers

Hello folks

A scheduled post from me today. Rather than keep forgetting to post I have decided to schedule a couple of posts on a Sunday. 

This is a card I recently made with some new products - 

For this card I used - 

• traditional peony stamp set and die set from Crafter's Companion
• lulu lavender, elderberry, grape jelly, pear tart, pistachio and olive grove Memento inks
• Sara's Signature collection - sew homemade decorative lattice frame cut and emboss folder
• lilac centura pearl
• Sheena stamping card
• Neenah card
• pearls from my stash

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set onto the cut piece from the cut and embossing folder. 

I used a piece of Sheena's stamping card for the background. I inked up the embossing folder before running it through my Gemini.
