In the garden

Good morning from a very wet and windy Manchester.

You find me waiting for the rain to ease off a little bit so I can head out to the post office without getting absolutely drenched. Those lovely sunny days of February are a distant memory now.
This week I have been playing with 3D embossing folders and inks. Here is one of the results -
For this card I have used -

  • Sheena's stamping card
  • In the garden 3D embossing folder from Crafter's Companion
  • Straw bale, pale fig, pink tulip and baby blue Harmony inks
  • Tumbled glass and bundled sage distress inks
  • Duck egg blue and bright gold Tonic Nuvo drops
  • Old gold centura pearl
  • Die'sire essentials celebration words set 1
  • ribbon from my stash

I inked the individual areas to being the card to life.

To make the card base I inked up a folded piece of Sheena's stamping card with the inks I had used for the main image.

Well the rain seems to have stopped for now so I am going to make a dash for it. Have a lovely weekend.

Mother Nature

Hello

A quick post from me tonight - I did think I had scheduled a post for yesterday but apparently not!

When I first saw the new Triblend pens from Crafter's Companion I thought to myself that I didn't really need them. I decided to watch the launch show and somehow they fell into my basket along with the stamps! I made this card from the practise piece because I just loved the result.
I used the Triblend pens but I also used some of my old Spectrum Noir pens too. I have used mother nature stamp from Crafter's Companion which I coloured with the following pens -

  • skin - fair skin blend and tan blend
  • hair - earth brown blend and EB8
  • leaves - citrus green blend and DG2
  • flowers - hydrangea blend, coral blend, light yellow blend, ice blue blend and DG2
  • sky - ice grey blend

I also used -

  • Sheena's stamping card (for the card base)
  • black card (from the Triblend pens packaging)
  • In the garden 3D embossing folder from Crafter's Companion
  • Gemini expressions tag die
  • Crafter's Companion's Say it with words stamp set (for the sentiment)
  • Sue Wilson's double stitched rectangles die set
  • tumbled glass and black soot distress ink
  • ribbon and gems from my stash
I wanted everything to coordinate so I used a piece of Sheena's stamping card for the card base and inked it with the tumbled glass distress ink and then ran the black soot distress ink around the outer edge. You can't see much of the embossing but it gives the card a little hint of texture.

I was a bit skeptical about these new pens but I have to say I love them. They take all the guess work out of colouring and blending and really compliment my existing pen collection.

That's all from me this evening. Thanks for stopping by.

Special friend

Good morning folks

Well you find me fully recovered from my chest infection and back to work. I wanted to spend my week off crafting but instead found myself lying on the sofa watching Netflix!
This is a card I made a while ago for my friend's birthday -
I started off by stamping the Butterflies stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion onto Neenah card which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens -
fig, boudoir, aquamarine, inspired violet and crystal clear
I cut out the butterflies using the dies in the set.
I also used -
Flutterby collection A3 card pack from Crafter's Companion
Gemini special friend die set
Damson wine Harmony ink
Ribbon and gem from my stash

That's all from me today.

Best wishes

Good morning folks

Today's card is the result of more playtime in my little crafty
haven -
I have used a Woodware stamp called bold blooms - Lesley (well I just had to buy it didn't I?) which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and Harmony inks -
  • seabreeze, golden sun, moonlight, biscuit, crystal clear, green pickle, warm basil and glacial pines
  • honeypot Harmony ink
I also used -
  • Woodware mini background greetings stamp set
  • Neenah card
  • honeypot, lemon tonic and strawbale Harmony inks
  • matt black card
  • white centura pearl

I created the background using Neenah card and Harmony inks. I randomly stamped the mini background greeting stamp and when dry applied the inks beginning with the lightest colour.

That's all from me today, enjoy your day.

Time to celebrate

Good morning

Happy Sunday to you all. I am still battling with this chest infection; I have finished my course of antibiotics and am still not feeling my best so I am heading back to the doctors tomorrow to see what else can be done.
This is a very simple card I made recently. It started off as a "what if" moment and I quite liked the result. I think it makes a really good card for those tricky males in our lives -
For this card I have used -
  • Sara's Signature collection - Just for men brights paper pad
  • matt black card
  • celebrate edger die from Papercuts
  • stars border die from Tonic
  • Gemini celebration word set 1 and 2 dies from Crafter's Companion

A short and sweet post from me today. Enjoy the rest of your day.
