Ivory

Hello and a very happy Saturday morning to you all. The sun is trying it's best to shine here and if the weathermen are correct with their forecast we could be in for a lovely weekend. My hubby has suggested a BBQ which normally means rain but fingers crossed.
This weeks challenge over at the Ribbon Girl is ivory. I am flying by the seat of my pants again with this one but here goes -
It's a bit pale for my liking - I do like colour and bright ones at that but it truned out better than I thought it would. I began by covering a 6 inch card blank with a spotty paper from my stash and then cutting a Tonic affections square base using the outer 2 dies in the set from another paper from my stash (they may be from Docrafts but I couldn't be certain). I then added some ivory lace (from the Ribbon Girl) across the bottom of the card.
The image is from LOTV which I won in their blog candy draw and is called Fairy with dove (ST364). I coloured her with the following Promarkers -
  • hair - ivory, vanilla and sandstone
  • skin - satin, blush and dusky pink
  • wings - ivory and pastel beige (plus lots of glitter)
  • dove - tawny owl and march hare
  • dress and shoes - eggnog, daffodil bloom, buttercup, tawny owl, march hare, almond and putty
  • tights - pastel beige and khaki
  • flowers, leaves and branch - tawny owl, frosted leaf, fresh meadow and buttercup
I cut the 2 smaller dies in the affections set using the spotty paper and then cut a central appature using the outer die from the Tonic All my love insert die set to creat a frame. Then using the centre of the smallest die in the square base set I drew around the image and cut out with scissors (hope this makes sense!!). I then inked the outer edge of the image with antique linen distress ink and attached it behind the die cut. I attached the whole thing to the card base with Pinflair.
To finish I added lots of pretty flowers from the Ribbon Girl some of which I inked with antique linen distress ink.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -
