Gaming fun

Hello everyone

Happy Halloween.

Today's card was made for my son's friend -

I began by cutting a Tonic layering square from a Papermania paper from my stash (I have had this one a long time but it was originally a brights capsule collection I think) and then I matted and layered it onto blue and yellow core'dinations. I cut a rectangle from a spotty paper from the pack and again matted and layered it onto blue and yellow core'dinations. I attached it to the stripey paper as shown and then attached the whole thing to a 6 inch square card blank.
The image is computer fun from LOTV (unfortunately this one has now retired) which I coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • hair - sandstone, caramel and cocoa
  • skin - satin, blush and dusky pink
  • tv and games console - cool grey 3, cool grey 4 and cool grey 5
  • tv picture - berry red, crimson, yellow, ivory, pastel beige, black, cool grey 1, ice grey 5, warm grey 1 and warm grey 3
  • games boxes - apple, leaf green, forest green, ivory and pastel beige
  • clothes - berry red, ruby, crimson, denim blue, polar blue, twilight blue, yellow, canary and gold
  • floor - tan and cinnamon
  • sky - pastel blue
I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's rectangle nestie, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and then matted and layered onto blue and yellow core'dinations. I attached the image to the card base with foam pads.
To finish I stamped a sentiment from LOTV's sentiments to fit a scroll stamp set and cut it out with a Die'namics mini tabs quartet die.

Thank you for stopping by today

Gold and sparkly Tilda

Hello folks

The Magnolia challenge this week at the Ribbon Girl is to add sparkle and here is my card for the challenge -
Apologies for the photo quality. My daughter's little point and click camera really didn't like all the gold sparkles.
I began by embossing a piece of gold mirriboard with an Embossalicious snowflake embossing folder. I then cut a paper from Bobunny's Elf magic paper pad with a Tonic layering square die and matting it onto the embossed mirri. I cut more of the papers from the pad, matted them onto the embossed miiri and attached them to the stripey paper as shown. I then wrapped a piece of red ribbon (from my stash) around the card. I attached the whole thing to a 6 inch square card blank.
The image is Merry Christmas Tilda which I coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • hair - praline, saddle brown and burnt sienna
  • clothes - berry red, ruby, crimson, pine, holly, ivory and pastel beige
  • basket - tan, cinnamon and cocoa
  • flowers - ruby, crimson, apple cider, herb garden and gold
  • sky - pastel blue
  • ground - warm grey 1 and warm grey 4
I cut the image out using a Spellbinder's oval nestie, cut a faux nestie from embossed gold mirri and matted the image onto it. Then a cut a Spellbinder's floral oval from a paper from the pad and matted the image onto it. I added some gold glitter to the centre of the flower and then attached the image to the card with glue gel.

I made the poinsettia using plain white card, a double sided adhesive sheet, gold glitter and Spellbinder's poinsettia dies. I added a pearl to the centre of the flower which I coloured with a ruby Promarker. I then attached it to the card with glue gel.
The sentiment is from LOTV's Christmas wishes stamp set which I heat embossed with gold powder and cut out using Spellbinder's Resplendent rectangle.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

I matted and layered another paper from the pad onto another piece of green card and attached it to the card as shown. I then wrapped a piece of Christmas ribbon (from the Ribbon Girl) around the card and attached the whole thing to the card base.
I cut a Die'sire circle doily from another paper from the pad and attached it to the card as shown.
The image is Christmas candle from LOTV which I coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • coat - holly and pine
  • scarf and gloves - apple cider, herb garden, berry red, ruby and crimson
  • skin - stain, blush and dusky pink
  • hair - terracotta and burnt umber
  • shoes - praline, saddle brown and burnt sienna
  • candle - ivory, pastel beige, praline, saddle brown, gold, orange and tulip yellow
  • snow - icicle
  • sky - pastel blue

I cut the image out with a Tonic layering square, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and matted and layered it onto a piece of green card. I added lots of glitter to the hood and snow and then attached the whole thing to the card base with glue gel.

I stamped a sentiment from LOTV's winter wishes stamp set, cut it out with scissors (I drew around the inner part of the die) and matted it onto a Spellbinder's Tranquil moments cut from green card. I attached it to the card with glue gel.
To finish I added some pearls from the Ribbon Girl.

Goodbye

Good morning folks

A very happy Saturday to you all. It is the start of my half term break - yipee!!! And oh boy I am glad it has finally arrived. I commented in my blog last week how I was hoping for a quiet week - how wrong was I. On Monday lunchtime we got the call every school dreads - Ofsted were on their way the following day. We always carry on as usual but the thought of an inspector "popping" into the classroom at any point in the day is very stressfull. Plus you never know how the children will react - some will have a whole conversation with the inspector ignoring you and their work, while others just clam up and sit and stare at him. But thankfully it is all over now and we will find out soon how we got on.
Now back to crafting. Today's card is one I made for my friend who is about to embark on a whole new chapter in her life - a new job and a new home in a new town. Three birds with one stone.
I began by making a A5 card using a sheet of A4 centura pearl and my Ultimate Pro (Have you seen the Big score from Crafter's Companion - that is definitely going to be falling into my basket soon). I matted and layered two papers from First Editions Dreamcatcher paper pad and attached them to the card base.
The image is from House of Zandra and is called Toadstool Village 1 which I coloured with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -

  • Toadstool top, door, window and flowers - PL1, PL2, 039 and 042
  • Toadstool stalk and chimney - FS1, FS2, FS4, FS9, TN2, TN3, TN4, 089 and 009
  • Ground - TN5, TN8 and 095
  • Leaves and stems - CG2, DG2 and DG4
  • Sky - IB1, TB1 and TB2
  • Window - IG1
I cut the image out using Spellbinder's Branching out and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I then made a frame from the purple pare from the pad using Spellbinder's Branching out and matting basics A dies. I attached the frame to the image and then attached the whole thing to the card base with foam pads.

I made a flower using pares from the pad and a Die'namics plentiful petals die which I attached to the card along with a Spellbinder's sprig. I added a gem (from my stash) to the centre of the flower.
The sentiment is from LOTV's Everyday grungy messages which I inked with tumbled glass distress ink.
To finish I added a ribbon bow from my stash.

Enjoy your weekend. Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Halloween

Hello Folks

Here is today's card (a little early I know) -
I began by making my own pumpkin stamp so I could make the purple background paper.I cut a IO die pumpkin from funky foam and stamped and heat embossed it randomly onto a piece of purple core'dinations card.
I matted and layered this onto orange core'dinations and then wrapped some black and orange ribbon (from my stash) around the card. I then matted it onto black core'dinations and attached the whole thing onto a 6 inch square card blank.
The image is catman from Penny Black which I have coloured with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -
  • cat - BGR1, BGR2, BGR3, BGR4, 120, 119, blender, PP1, PP3 and 035
  • pumpkin - OR1, OR2, OR3, 022, DG2, DG4 and 058
  • sky - TB1
  • shadow - BG1
I cut the image out using a Spellbinder's circle nestie, inking whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and then matting and layering the image onto a purple and an orange circle. I attached the whole thing to the card base with glue gel.
To finish I cut bats, a ghost and a pumpkin from orange funky foam (using the IO die from earlier) and attached them to the card as shown.

Fuschias

Good morning

Today is my mum's birthday and here is the card I made for her -
The papers, topper and flowers are all from Making cards magazine and the template for the card was also featured in the magazine.
I began by cutting one of the papers using a Tonic layering squares die, matted it onto another piece of pink card and attached it to 6 inch square card blank. I cut another paper using Spellbinder's matting basics A and again matting onto pink card. I wrapped a piece of green spotty ribbon (from the Ribbon Girl) around 2 corners of this paper and attached it to the card base. I added a pearl (from the Hobby House) to the centre of the top ribbon.
I then cut one of the toppers out of the sheet using a Spellbinder's rectangle nestie, inking whilst still in the die with spun sugar distress ink and then matting onto a piece of pink card. I attached this to the card with foam pads.
I matted and layered some flowers which came free with the magazine and attached them to the card with glue gel as shown. I added some pearls to the centre of each of the flowers.
To finish I cut a Die-namics mini tabs and stamped a sentiment onto it from LOTV's scroll sentiments. I attached it to the side of the topper as shown.

Red and green snowman

Good Monday morning to you all

It's my last week at work before the half term holidays and it is set to be a very busy one. Never mind that means it will fly by as the other 7 weeks have done.

Today's card is another Christmas one and there will be no apologies from me about the C word anymore. It is less than 100 days to go and I am so far behind in my card production. Time to get my head down and get crafting.
I began by covering a 6 inch square card base with a piece of red Bazzil cardstock. I then cut a spotty and a stripe paper from BoBunny's Elf magic paper pad into squares and rectangles and matted the rectangles onto some more Bazzil card. I attached the rectangles onto the spotty paper and then wrapped a piece of Christmas ribbon (from the Ribbon Girl) around the centre of the papers. I then attached the whole thing to the card base.
The image is Sweet snowman from Penny Black which I have coloured with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -

  • hat and scarf - DR1, DR5, DR7, 033, CG1, DG2, DG4 and 058
  • snowman - IG1, IG2, OR1 and OR3
  • sky - IB1
I cut the image out using a Tonic layering square die, inked with tumbled glass distress ink whilst still in the die and matted onto a piece of red Bazzil card. I attached the image to the card with foam pads.

To finish I stamped a sentiment from LOTV's Christmas wishes stamp set and cut it out using Die'namics mini tabs quartet die set. I attached it to the side of the image as shown.

Jessica

Hello Folks.

Happy Sunday to you.

Today's card features Jessica from the Scruffy Little Cat range from Crafter's Companion. I love colouring these images and have had great fun playing with my Spectrum Noir pens and pencils. I bought the blending solution and paper stumps last week and I am really impressed with how well they enable the pens and pencils to blend.
This is a close up of some of the image.
I began by making an easel card from a 7 inch square card blank. I then matted and layered a paper from the Scruffy Little Cat dark paper pad onto red and black core'dinations and added them to the card base and the folded part of the easel.
I made a stopper from the same paper, matted it onto a piece of red core'dinations card and then attached it to a piece of black core'dinations which I cut with Spellbinder's Classic petal border die. I then wrapped a piece of black gingham ribbon around the stopper and attached it to the base with foam pads.
As I said at the beginning of the post the image is Jessica from the Scruffy little cat range at Crafter's Companion. I coloured it with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -
  • hair - IG6, IG8, IG10, 119 and 120
  • skin - FS2, FS3, TN2 and CR6
  • eyes - TB3 and 068
  • eyeshadow - CR3, CR5 and 009
  • lips - CR8 and CR11
  • top and hat - DR1, DR5, DR7, 027 and 033
  • shorts and boots - BGR1, BGR2, BGR4, BGR5 and 073
  • cacti - CG1, DG2, DG4, 047, 058, CR8, CR10 and CR11
  • sand - GB8 and GB10
  • sky - IB1
I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's oval nestie, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and matted it onto a piece of red paper from the pad. I cut a Spellbinder's Grand decorative ovals from black core'dinations and attached the image to it. I then attached the whole thing to the card with foam pads as shown.
I made a flower using a piece of red core'dinations and a Die'sire quilling rose die. I added a black button to the centre and attached it to the stopper with glue gel.
To finish I made a bow from the gingham ribbon and attached it to the side of the image along with a sentiment from LOTV's sentiment tags stamp set (set 24).
Now because of the depth of the quilling flower the card wouldn't fit in an envelope so I made a box from black core'dinations and covered it with some scraps of papers from the Scruffy Little Cat paper pad. I am sorry about the clutter behind the card and box. I cleared a space on my desk to take the photo and obviously didn't clear enough!! Just goes to show the state of my desk.
I would like to enter this card into the Crafter's Companion Facebook challenge which this month is buttons and bows and into the Spectrum Noir Facebook challenge which this month is embellishments (I have used buttons and bows).

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Christmas candle

Hello folks

Yes it's Friday again - the weeks are flying by aren't they. And as Christmas is racing towards us today's card is another Christmas one -
I began by covering a 6 inch square card blank with a piece of red Bazzil cardstock (wow this is good stuff. It feels beautiful) and then I cut a square using Tonic's Happy birthday die set (the outer 2 dies only) and a paper from LOTV's Twas the night paper pad. I attached some lace and Christmas ribbon to the centre of the card and then attached the whole thing to the card base.
The image is Christmas candle from LOTV which is one of the retiring stamps so you will need to be quick if you want this one. I have coloured it with the following Promarkers -
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • hair - terracotta and burnt umber
  • coat - berry red, ruby, crimson and cool grey 1
  • scarf - apple cider, herb green, pine and holly
  • gloves - pear green and apple cider
  • boots - saddle brown and burnt sienna
  • candle and candle stick - ivory, pastel beige, saddle brown, burnt sienna, tulip yellow, mustard, sunflower, gold and orange
  • snow - icicle
  • sky - pastel blue
I cut the image out with Spellbinder's floral ovals, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and added lots of glitter to her hood and the snow. I then made a frame using Spellbinder's floral ovals and a Spellbinder's oval nestie. I attached the frame to the image and then added it to the card base with glue gel.
Then I cut a Die'sire holly from green core'dinations, attached it to the card and added some flowers from the Ribbon Girl. To finish I added some red pearls (also from the Ribbon Girl).

A little Christmas sparkle

Hello everyone

Can you believe that it's Friday night again. The weeks are flying by and my Christmas card production is very low so far.
Note to self - Must try harder!!
In light of this today's card is a Christmas one and uses a stamp I recently bought from Lili of the Valley.
I began by covering a 6 inch square card blank with silver centura pearl and then cutting a Tonic Just a note outer die only from a paper from LOTV's Frosty Christmas paper pad (I am using the scraps of this paper pad because that's all I have left). I cut a rectangle of another of the papers, cut one edge using Spellbinder's classic petal border and matted it onto another piece of silver centura pearl. I then attached it to the base paper. I wrapped a piece of blue ribbon (from my stash) around the papers and attached the whole thing to the card base.
The image is LOTV's Penguin pals (ST527) which I coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • penguins - cool grey 1, cool grey 4, cool grey 5, black, gold, sunflower and tequila sunrise
  • scarves - denim blue, arctic blue and sky blue
  • snowman - icicle, heatwave, burnt orange, praline, saddle brown and burnt sienna
  • snow - icicle
  • sky - pastel blue

I added lots of Stickles to the image and allowed to dry (it gets very messy if you don't!! - Ask me how I know!!) before cutting the image out using Tonic's layering squares, inking whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and matting onto a piece of silver centura pearl. I attached it to the card base with foam pads.

To finish I added a Spellbinder's icicle die cut to which I added lots Stickles. I then attached it to the top of the card with foam pads.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -
