Sunflowers

Hello

Today's post is a long one - so pour yourself a cuppa and off we go

I started by making a 8 inch card blank from two pieces of black centura pearl. To hide the join I wrapped a piece of black ribbon around the card. I then scored a folded the top of the card to create a twisted easel card. I cut 2 more 8 inch pieces of the same card and attached one to the card base. I then cut 2 pieces of yellow core'dinations and ran them through an Embossalicious roses embossing folder. I then sanded the card back to reveal the core and then rubbed Autumn bronze guilding wax around the outer edges. I attached these to the black centura pearl.
I then cut the largest and second largest dies from Spellbinders A2 tranquil moments. I attached the largest one to the front of the card. To the smaller die I added a "happy birthday" peeloff and then attached it to the card base with foam pads to act as a stopper.
I stamped 3 sunflowers onto yellow core'dinations using a stamp by Chloe and cut each one out using scissors. I rubbed a little Autumn bronze guilding wax to the outer edges of each flower. I then attached them to the die cut with Pinflair, added hat pins and some black Dazzlers. I cut the smallest die from the tranquil moments set from black centura pearl, added a gold "40" peeloff and attached it to the top corner of the card front. I then added this to the folded part of the card to create the front of the card.
This card was a commission card and so is very different from my usual style. However I do like the way it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by.

The sentiment is from the stamp set which a cut out with a Spellbinder's scalloped circle die, inked whilst still in the die with antique linen distress ink and atached to the card with foam pads.
I made some flowers using Tonic's petal pairs punches and scraps of the papers and added them to the card as shown.
To finish I added some pearls which I coloured with a peach Promarker to the centre of the flowers.

18th birthday celebrations

Hello everyone
Today's card has been made to celebrate a friend's daughter's 18th birthday -
I began by making a card blank using lilac centura pearl card and my Ultimate Pro. I matted and layered the card blank with silver and lilac centura pearl and an embossed piece of white card (embossed using a free Sheena Douglas embossing folder which came the latest Inspirations magazine).
I created the sentiment using Clarity stamps' letterbox and numbers kit. I masked each of the squares and ovals and then added a little milled lavender distress ink to the bottom of the letters and numbers. I then cut the image out with a Spellbinder's card basics A and matted and layered it onto silver and lilac centura pearl.
The champagne bottle has been cut from lilac centura pearl card and a free die which came with a Creative Expressions magazine sent to me by my mother in law - thank you Irene.
The flowers were made using a little stamp from Hobbycraft (it was only £1 and is brilliant for creating little flower arrangements). I stamped and heat embossed it using a lilac embossing powder and then cut them out and arranged as shown.
To finish I added some lilac gems (from the Ribbon Girl) to the centres of the flowers.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog.

This month's colour challenge at the Ribbon Girl is YELLOW so I have made this card, get your sunglasses  ready
As you can see it is very, very yellow! I began by embossing a piece of core'dinations with a floral frenzy embossing folder from Crafters Companion. I wrapped a piece of spotty yellow ribbon (from the Ribbon Girl) around the card and  then matted and layered (along with some darker core'dinations) onto a 6 inch card blank.
The image is Tilda holding an egg from Magnolia which I coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • bunny suit - daffodil bloom, pineapple crush, summer sun. soft peach, peach and mango
  • egg - soft peach, peach, mango, pineapple crush and summer sun
  • grass - green and lush green
  • sky - pastel blue and denim blue
I cut the image out with Die-namics stitched circle and matted it onto a Tonic dotty lace doily. I then attached it to the card base with foam pads.
The sentiment is from LOTV's circular happy sentiments (set 8) which I cut out using a scalloped circle nestie and inked whilst still in the die with scattered straw distress ink. I added a little colour to the flowers on the sentiment with Promarkers.
I made some yellow flowers using Tonic's petal pairs punches. I added a blob of Pinflair to the centre of the flower and then added some glitter. The results look a little like clear jelly tots! Also if you look closely you will see they are not perfect circles - never mind better look next time.

Up, up and away

Hello folks.
I hope you are all enjoying the last day of the Easter break. Today is the last day of my Easter holiday - it's back to work tomorrow. It has been a lovely holiday - spending time with my family and friends and also having time to spend in the garden and in my craft room.
This weeks challenge at Crafty Little Fairies is 'Up and away' and I must admit I had to dig deep into my stamp box to find the one I have used for this card!
I began by matting and layering a 6 inch card blank with some core'dinations and Docrafts Especially for you papers. I then wrapped a piece of turquoise ribbon (from my stash) around the card.
The image is from Daisy and Dandelion (Docrafts) called Happy Birthday and is one of the first stamps I bought when I first began stamping. I coloured this cute little chap with the following Promarkers -
  • balloon - soft green, mint green, turquoise and grey green
  • bear - ice grey 1, ice grey 2, ice grey 3, ice grey 4, black, soft green, mint green and turquoise

Happy Easter

Hello and a very happy Easter Sunday to you all

Here is another Easter card for you today -
I began by making a card blank from white centura pearl (it's a little bigger than 7" by 5") and inking around the edge with scattered straw distress ink. I then cut 2 rectangles from yellow core'dinations (one slightly smaller than the other) using Spellbinder's matting basics A. I ran the smaller of the two through a M-Bossabilities embossing folder (called Reverence) and sanded to reveal the core. I then inked the edges with antique linen distress ink.
I cut a Tonic dotty lace circle from the darker core'dinations and attached it to the card with foam pads.
The sentiment is from LOTV's happy circular sentiments (set 8) which I coloured with Promarkers and then cut out with a scalloped circle nestie. I inked the sentiment whilst still in the die with scattered straw distress ink and attached it to the card as shown.
To finish I added a bow (using ribbon from my stash) and some Tonic petal pairs flowers.

The card below is a variation on the theme -
I used a slightly darker piece of core'dinations card for this card (it was a large piece that I had in my scraps box) and omitted the bow.

Many thanks for stopping by.

Easter Tilda

Hello and a very happy Wednesday to you all.

Once again we are off out today to enjoy the sunshine so this is a scheduled post.

The challenge at MDUC is to use this sketch with an optional Easter theme and when I saw this stamp I knew I had to use it -
And so here is my interpretation of the sketch -
I used a 6 inch card blank and some papers from LOTV's Shabby shack paper pad to recreate the sketch. I used ribbons from my stash to create the two borders and the bow.
The image is Tilda Decorate Easter and has been coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • skin - satin, blush, dusky pink and coral
  • hair - raw sienna, terracotta and chestnut
  • daffodil - tulip yellow, sunflower, gold, bright orange, orange, mandarin, lush green, pine, holly, tan, cinnamon and cocoa
  • clothes - powder blue, cornflower and petrol blue
  • soil - henna and walnut
  • sky - pastel blue and denim blue
I cut the image out using Spellbinder's stately circles and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I then sprinkled the topper with some shabby blue frantage and attached the topper to the card with foam pads.
To finish I made some flowers using Tonic's petal pairs punches, added some pearls (from the Ribbon Girl) to the centres and added them to the card as shown -

Birthday celebrations

Hello folks

I hope you have been enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having here in the UK. We took advantage of the sunshine and the Easter holidays and went for a walk around Biddulph Grange. It was simply stunning - the tulips and daffodils in particular.
Lili of the Valley are celebrating their 10th birthday this month and the challenge this month is Birthdays. So this is my card for the challenge
I began by cutting the outer edge of a 6 inch card blank with Spellbinder's bracket borders 2. I then cut several papers from LOTV's Promises paper pad with the same die set and matted and layered them onto the card base as shown.
The image is LOTV's Annabel upside down (ST 496) which I coloured with the following Promarkers -
  • skin - satin, blush and dusky pink
  • hair - terracotta, chestnut and burnt umber
  • clothes - pastel blue, denim blue, arctic blue, lavender and lilac
  • shoes - cool grey 1 and cool grey 3
  • branch - walnut, henna, bright green and forest green
  • dog - ice grey 1, ice grey 4 and ice grey 5
  • sky - powder blue and cornflower
I cut the image out using a Spellbinder's rectangle nestie and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I then matted the image onto a Spellbinder's fleur de lis rectangle die and attached it to the card base with foam pads.
The sentiment is from LOTV's circular happy sentiments (set 8). I added a little colour to the flowers with Promarkers, cut it out with a scalloped circle nestie and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink.
I made some flowers using a Tonic petals pairs punch, added some pearls (from the Ribbon Girl) to the centre of the flowers and attached them to the card as shown.
Because I had shaped the card front I also decorated the inside of the card as shown -
I cut the white border with Spellbinder's bracket borders 2 and wrapped some ribbon (from my stash) around the border.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
