Unusual times

Good morning folks

How are we all doing in these unusual times? I spent last week at work but this week I am at home. I thought I would find this so easy. "Yes," I thought "loads of crafting time!" but my mojo is playing hard to get so I am spending time tidying up my craftroom and home, baking and cooking.
Today's card is one I made a while ago when I was practising colouring skin and hair. I was pleased with the results so I made it into a card.
This is a stamp called Special times from Polkadoodles which I have coloured with Copic pens -
  • hair - Y19, E15, E18 and T7
  • skin - E000, E00, E21, E11 and R11
  • dress and shoes - paper pieced
  • butterfly - R81, R83 and R85
  • bird - E15, E37, E29, Y17, Y38 and YR68
  • ground - T3 and T7
  • sky - B000

For this card I have also used -
  • ivory centura pearl
  • kraft card
  • Dwell paper pad from My Mind's Eye
  • lace and pearls from my stash
  • printed seam binding from Sara's signature collection - shabby chic collection
That's all from me today folks. I am hoping to be able to post more regularly now I am at home so I will be back soon.

Take care, stay safe and enjoy your crafty time.

A different direction

Good morning folks

This is a scheduled post from me today as I am heading into work today. It is going to be an interesting and strange kind of day.
A while ago I decided to give art journaling a go (that sounds a bit grand for what is actually me messing about with my craft stuff) and I was quite pleased with how it turned out.
The photos don't show the true colour or sparkle of the background which is a shame because it is a brilliant sparkle.
For this page I have used -

  • ALL and create stamps - nature's elements, mesh and thankful petals
  • ALL and create stencils - totally dotty
  • Spectrum Noir Sparkle ink - moonstone
  • Spectrum Noir pens - moonstone, blue topaz, iced denim and cool damson
  • Spectrum Noir metallic pens - gold plate and pewter
  • Spectrum Noir Harmony inks - ocean blue and midnight
  • Spectrum Noir midas ink - gold
  • pewter pixie powder

I stamped the butterfly 3 times and then cut out the elements to decoupage onto the background.

Thank you for stopping by today, stay safe.

New baby celebrations

Good morning folks

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying splendid isolation if you have to. My life is, so far, continuing albeit a trifle strange. On Friday we said goodbye to the majority of our children which was very emotional and strange. We are hoping to be able to reopen before the end of the acedemic year but in these uncertain times we just don't know. On Monday my role changes into play scheme worker which should mean goodbye to timetables and the national curriculum and hello to more relaxing and fun times. I have lots of crafty activities planned for the next few months (of course).
So far this year I have had the pleasure of welcoming 2 new babies into my circle of family and friends so here is one of the cards I made to celebrate the occasion -
For this card I have used -
  • Fairy Garden - garden friends stamp set (from Crafter's Companion) coloured with Copics pens - little bunny: E31, E35, E57, C00 and C1. Big bunny: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7 and C9. Sky: B000. Ground: T3.
  • Gemini stamp and die set - Baby
  • ivory centura pearl
  • blue centura pearl from Sara's signature collection - vintage lace
  • blue ribbon from Sara's signature collection - vintage lace
  • scattered dots embossing folder from Sara's signature collection - birthday party
  • pearls from my stash

I love this little stamp from Crafter's Companion and it is so perfect for a new baby card especially when the new baby has an older sibling.
I cut a faux matt from the blue centura pearl and then used glue gel to attach it to the card.
That's all from me today. Stay safe folks.

Happy 21st birthday

Hello folks

Well I am not going to talk about you know what I am just going to concentrate on crafting instead.
Today I am sharing another 21st birthday card, this one made for my children to send to their brother -
For this card I have used -

  • Woodware's 21st birthday stamp
  • travel notes paper pad from First Edition
  • matt black card
  • gems from my stash
I stamped the 21 stamp onto one of the papers from the pad, fussy cut it out and then added it to another of the papers.

A fairly simple card to make, thanks to Pinterest for the inspiration.
Stay safe folks
