January birthday

Good morning folks

Well it's Monday morning and for me it is back to work. A training day so no children in until tomorrow - a gentle return to work. The fun will start tomorrow.
Today's card is one I made for my friend whose birthday was on 2nd -
I began by trimming an inch off the front of a 6 inch card blank and then punching it with Tonic's Dotty lace border punch. I then matted and layered the front and inside of the card base with papers from LOTV's Timeless Victorian paper pad.
The image is It's cold outside from Magnolia which I coloured with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -

  • skin - FS1, FS3, FS6 and 089
  • hair - GB2, GB8 and 087
  • clothes - HB1, HB2, HB3, 078, 080, IG1, IG2 and 117
  • holly - DG2, DG4 and DR7
  • sky - IB1
  • snow - IG1

I added glitter to the snowy areas, cut the image out with Die'namics stitched circle and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I then matted it onto a Spellbinder's Stately circle and attached it to to front of the card with Pinflair.
I cut several Tonic royal ferns from one of the papers and added them to the front and inside of the card. I made a couple of flowers using Tonic's petal pairs punches and added a pearl to the centre of each.
To finish I stamped a sentiment from LOTV's sentiment tags set (set 24) and added it to the card as shown.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

  4. It's a lovely card and so close to Christmas, but CHNC challenge 210 should really be a Christmas card - however, it is so lovely that I'm glad you shared it x
