Snowy and sparkly

Good evening everyone

The challenge at The Ribbon Girl this week is 'make it sparkly' and here is my card for this challenge -

As you can see it is another easel card and has been made using Spellbinder's Grand decorative circles one. I have used this technique previously on a card called Anniversary wishes. If you click on the link the blog post will show you how it is done. The image is from LOTV and is called Snow Angel. It has been coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • bear - warm grey 1, warm grey2 and warm grey 3
  • coat, hat and boots - pastel blue, arctic blue, sky blue, midnight blue and icicle
  • scarf - aegan blue and french navy
  • snow - ice grey 1
I put lots of glitter on the hat and the snow. I cut the image out using the smallest Spellbinder's Grand decorative circles 1 and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. Once I'd removed it from the die I inked the edges with tumbled glass distress ink. The papers are from LOTV frosty Christmas paper pad and I matted and layered the next 2 sizes of the die cuts as shown. Using Die'sire snowflake die I cut several from 2 colours of glitter card and added them to the card as shown. I added blue gems from The Ribbon Girl to the centre of the snowflakes.

To create the stopper I cut a Memory Box Frostyville border from white centura pearl card and wrapped some blue velvet ribbon from The Ribbon Girl around the border. I added it to the card with foam tape. I stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder a sentiment from LOTV handwritten Christmas sentiments and cut out using Spellbinder's Resplendent rectangles. Whilst still in the die I inked it with tumbled glass distress ink and then added it to the stopper.

Ding dong merrily on high

Hello

Good Sunday afternoon to you all. I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather we are having today. Winter seems an awful long way off but to bring things back to earth here is another Christmas card -

Today's card uses an image from Crafter's companions Makey Bakey mouse range and is called Christams carols. He is so cute. It has been coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • mouse - ivory, oatmeal, spice, burnt orange, terracotta, baby pink, pastel pink, warm grey 1 and warm grey 2
  • coat and hat - red, poppy, berry red, ice grey 1 and ice grey 2
  • song sheet - cool grey 1, pine green and berry red
  • sky - pastel blue
  • shadow - cool grey 1
I cut the image out using Spellbinder's decorative labels 22 and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. Once I'd removed the image from the die I inked around the edge with antique linen distress ink. I cut a border using Die'sire Lace border 6 on a piece of red paper from a Boofle paper pad and matted it onto another piece of paper from the same pad. I embossed a piece of red card stcok with a music Embossalicious embossing folder and rubbed over with some gold gilding wax. I then added the image as shown.

I then cut several pieces of holly using a Dies'sire die and some green core'dinations and several pieces of ivy using a Marianne die and the same green Core'dinations.

I arranged them on the card as shown and added some red dew drops (from The Ribbon Girl).

I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set with versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then cut the sentiment out using Spellbinder's Marvelous squares and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. Once I had removed it from the die I inked around the edge with antique linen distress ink.

To finish I added some pearls again from The Ribbon Girl.

A smile sentiment

Good morning folks

Yeah its Saturday once again and its also my sister in laws birthday and here is the card I made for her -

I have tried to switch the focus of the card to the sentiment on this card. It is a fantastic saying and is from LOTV Quotables - Friendship (set 62).

I cut it out using Spellbinders Butterflies circles and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I removed it from the die and then ink the other edge of the die cut with tumbled glass distress ink. The papers are from LOTV and Raspberry Road Beach bliss paper pad. I matted and layered a 6inch square card blank as shown and wrapped some lace from the Ribbon Girl around the card. I then added the sentiment topper. The lovely little cat is again from LOTV and is called Thomas - flower (ST027). I have coloured it with the following Promarkers -

  • Thomas - cinnamon, henna and cocktail pink
  • flowers - cool aqua, duck egg, turquoise, saffron, blush, grass and emerald green
  • sky - pastel blue
  • shadow - cool grey 1
I cut Thomas out and added him to the card with Pinflair for added dimension. I then cut several flowers and a flourish from the papers using Spellbinder's Floral doily accents, Anemone flower topper and Venetian motifs.

I added the flowers to the card base and to finish added pearls to the centre of the flowers.

Happy Birthday Caroline.

Thank you for stopping by.
