A star on top

Good Sunday afternoon to you all

Can you believe it's December the first already, where has this year gone? I have been trying to get into the festive spirit by making my mince pies but its still feels wrong somehow. We are starting the  preparations for the Christmas show at work next week which usually gets me feeling a bit Christmassy so hopefully by the end of next week I should be feeling a little festive - here's hoping!!!!

If you would like to get into the Christmas spirit then why not check out the challenge at Crafty Little Fairies this week -they are looking for cards with a classic Christmas feel (red, green and gold) and this is my contribution -

It hasn't photographed that well I'm afraid. There is a narrow gold border behind the green check but it only seems to have caught the light at the bottom.
It is a very simple card for me but I think the lovely image from LOTV needs very little else adding really. The image is called A star on top which has been coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • polar bear - icicle and pastel pink
  • penguin - cool grey 5, black, gold, berry red and cardinal red
  • tree - lush green, holly, walnut and berry
  • star - summer sun and pineapple crush
  • snow - icicle
  • sky - powder blue
I added some glitter to the star, tree, snow and the penguins hat for a bit of sparkle.

To finish I stamped a sentiment from LOTV handwritten Christmas phrases and some gold gems.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

http://craftylittlefairieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk - classic Christmas (red, green and gold)

If you are feeling a bit left out buying presents for everyone else why not check out LOTV's website. From 12 noon tomorrow they are having a 24 hour sale. You can check it out here.

Thank you for stopping by.

Lesley
