Now where did that weekend go? Not crafting I can tell you. I always feel a little cheated if I don't spend a couple of hours in my craft room at weekend. Today I have managed to grab a few minutes to put a card together for a couple of challenges. Love seems to be a popular theme this week so here is my card -
I started with a scalloped 6 inch card blank which I inked with fired brick distress ink. I then ink the edges of a piece of heart paper from my stash and wrapped around a piece of red ribbon and some white lace (from the Ribbon Girl). I then attached this to the card blank. I couldn't find a piece of red cardstock that matched by backing paper so I cut a piece of white centura pearl using Die'sire's heat doilies and inked with fired brick distress ink. I was pleased with the result as the pearl effect came through the ink which I didn't expect. (very inky fingers though!) I then attached the heart to the card using Pinflair. The image is from Crafter's Companion's Bebunni collection and is called Love you. I coloured it with the following Promarkers -
- Bebunni - warm grey1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, fuchsia pink and orchid
- LOVE YOU - red, poppy, amethyst and violet
- hearts and bauble - red, poppy, amethyst and violet
- shadow - ice grey 1
- sky - pastel blue
To finish I stamped "love and kisses" which came in the stamp set in the bottom corner of the card. Simple really. I did play with some embellishments but decided less was definitely more and stepped away from the card. Still undecided as to whether it works or not.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
