Birthday Tulips

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday afternoon to you all.

 Well its all over - my dental work is complete and I can smile with confidence again although I am a lot poorer. And the dental appointment concludes the week of appointments so next week is all about family fun - woohoo!!! But that also means little or no crafting - boo!!
The challenge at Penny Black this month is Cats and Dogs so here is my card for the challenge -
I began by punching the edge of a 8 inch card blank with a Tonic dotty lace border punch and then matting and layering the card with papers from LOTV's Heartfelt paper pad. I then added a piece of lace (I think it was from Docrafts but I've lost the packaging so I can't give you anymore detail than that). I cut 2 Die'sire circle doilies from one of the papers and then attached them to the card as shown.
The image is Tulip Jungle from Penny Black which I coloured with the following Promarkers - 
  • cat - ice grey 3, ice grey 5, black and pastel pink
  • tulips - cardinal red, crimson, ruby, forest green, marsh green, olive green and pine
  • sky - pastel blue and denim blue
I cut the image out with Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis rectangle, inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and then inked the outer edge of the die cut with peeled paint distress ink. I attached the image to the card base with foam pads as shown.
The sentiment was a magazine freebie which I cut out with Spellbinder's Floral ovals, inked whist still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink and the inked the outer edge with peeled paint distress ink. Again I attached it to the card with foam pads.
To finish I added some crochet flowers (again from Docrafts) and some tiny cream buttons.
