Woodland wishes

Hello

The lovely ladies at The Ribbon Girl have introduced a new challenge - a Lili of the Valley one! It is called the Lovely Lili challenge and you can check it out here. This month is an anything goes challenge so it has taken me ages to decide which stamp to use but I finally decided to go with a Christmas theme as I purchased a beautiful paper pad last week from LOTV called Woodland Wishes. The unusual Christmas colours really appealled to me and I thought the lovely Holy light stamp (ST439) worked beautifully with it. Here is my card -

The image has been coloured with the following Promarkers -

  • hair - burnt sienna, chestnut and henna
  • skin - almond and putty
  • dress - wild cranberry and burgundy
  • wings - stain and blush
  • crown - moss, olive green and wild cranberry
  • candle - ivory, cool grey 1, gold, pumpkin and pastel yellow
  • snow - warm grey 1
  • sky - pastel blue
I cut the image out using Spellbinder's labels 11 and inked whilst still in the die with Victorian velvet distress ink. Then I matted it onto a decorative labels 8 and a piece of paper from the Woodland wishes paper pad. I cover a card blank with a piece of the paper and then cut another piece of the paper using Die'sire lace border 6 as an edge. I added a piece of burgundy velvet ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and then added the paper to the card base.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from LOTV handwritten Christmas sentiments, cut it out using labels 11 and inked whilst still in the die with Victorian velvet distress ink. I then matted it onto decorative labels 8 and added it to the card as shown.

To finish I added a flower from The Ribbon Girl (from my prize last week) and a piece of holly cut using a piece of the paper pad and a Die'sire die.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
