No 1 Grandad

Hello folks

Happy Monday to you.
This is the card I made for my kids to give their Grandad on his birthday -
I began by covering a 5 x 7 inch card blank with a paper from LOTV's Beach bliss paper pad. I then cut a Spellbinder's matting basics A from another of the papers and attached it to the card base as shown. From another of the papers I cut a Tonic Royal frame and attached it to the card base.
The image is from LOTV and is called Champion Ted (ST 165). This stamp is being retired by LOTV and they have an offer on all their stamps at the moment 5 stamps for £20 (P and P free) so check out here if you would like to add some of the older LOTV stamps to your collection. And after that little advert break back to the crafting.
I have coloured Champion Ted with the following Spectrum Noir pens and pencils -

  • bear - BGR1, BGR2, BGR3, 117, IB1, IB2 and 052
  • cup - GB3, GB5 and 020
  • sky - TB1
  • shadow - IG1, IG2 and IG4

All the pencils I use are from either the essentials or primaries tins. I bought the blending solution and the stumps to see what effect they would have and they really do move the ink around. It's amazing how a solid pencil line becomes a liquid - brilliant.
I cut the image out with the rectangle from Tonic's Royal frame. I had to cut the cup with scissors before I die cut the image and then slid it over the top of the die before passing it through the Grand Calibur. I inked the edges of the die cut with tumbled glass distress ink once I had removed it from the die. I attached the topper to the card with foam pads.
I stamped a sentiment from LOTV's sentiments to fit a scroll, cut it out with Spellbinder's resplendent rectangle and inked whilst still in the die with tumbled glass distress ink. I matted the sentiment onto another of the dies from the set and attached to the card with foam pads.
To finish I added a bow and a heart charm from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge -

Thank you for stopping by.
